The Guru Puja (in Sanskrit, Lama Chopa in Tibetan) is a compendium of teachings from the Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions, composed in the seventeenth century by the great Panchen Lobsang Choky Gyaltsen. This practice, which is a part of the “meditations in movement” (because it makes the practitioner work on the rhythm of the breathing) shows how to integrate the Lamrim, Lojong and Mahamudra practices and also helps meditation on the three principal yidams of the Gelugpa school: Yamantaka, Guyusamajha and Heruka. Practicing the Guru Puja fulfils all the commitments taken during Tantric initiations.
The heart of the Guru Puja consists of the tsog offering, which is dedicated to all the beings of the six realms, to all the buddhas and enlightened beings and to the spiritual guide. It is an antidote to solitude.
Since the 11th of September 2001, it is practiced everyday at Albagnano Healing Meditation centre, Verbania-Italy, with the special dedication to pacify both world and environmental violence.
The practice transmitted by Lama Gangchen includes, other than the traditional text, the Praise to the Twenty-One Taras, the invocation of the inner and world peace Protector and long life prayer.
The book also contains the complete text in Tibetan.
